Course recognition

A number of professional bodies recognise or approve the courses run by the Centre for Stress Management, and the International Academy for Professional Development Ltd. 

 

BRITISH PSYCHOLOGICAL SOCIETY​

British Psychological Society (BPS) runs a CPD Quality Mark scheme. The Centre for Stress Management and Centre for Coaching courses and workshops are Approved through the BPS CPD Quality Mark Scheme for the purposes of continuing professional development. In the context of the BPS CPD Quality Mark scheme, the term ‘course’ refers to any CPD activity; this includes courses, seminars, symposia, conferences, workshops and other events, delivered online and/or face-to-face. Our courses are run by BPS Chartered Psychologists. 

The British Psychological Society is the learned and professional body, incorporated by Royal Charter, for psychology in the United Kingdom. The BPS has more than 60,000 members and is a registered charity. One of the key objectives of the BPS is ‘to promote the advancement and diffusion of the knowledge of psychology pure and applied and especially to promote
the efficiency and usefulness of members by setting up a high standard of professional education and knowledge’.

INTERNATIONAL SOCIETY FOR COACHING PSYCHOLOGY
An international professional membership body established to further the discipline and profession of coaching psychology. The Centre has achieved Approved Centre Status with the Society therefore our courses are ISCP Approved.

INTERNATIONAL GUILD OF COMPLEMENTARY THERAPISTS

The Centre for Stress Management is a recognised training provider with courses accredited by the International Guild of Complementary Therapists (IGCT). The International Guild of Complementary Therapists offer membership to students, practitioners and training providers who run both “live” and distant learning courses anywhere in the world. They review the training courses provided by their members to ensure that they receive quality training. They provide information and advice to the general public and to therapists. They also provide a forum so that their members can connect with like-minded people. Visit the IGCT website if you are interested in student or full membership.

INTERNATIONAL STRESS MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATION UK (ISMA UK)
ISMA Membership is open to anyone who has an interest in stress management and is able to demonstrate evidence of the experience and qualifications required for the grade of membership for which they apply. ISMA recognises the Centre for Stress Management, Primary Certificate, Certificate, Advanced Certificate and Diploma in Stress Management programmes as providing eligibility for professional membership. ISMA is the leading professional body for stress management in the UK. It has branches in many countries.

INSTITUTE OF MANAGEMENT SPECIALISTS
The Institute's objectives are: To encourage management excellence and specialist expertise; To help members achieve their personal aspirations, fulfil their career ambitions and develop their innate potential; To support lifelong learning and encourage education in management and specialist areas; To give professional recognition to the knowledge and skills of managers and specialists. Membership Applicants will be assessed on their Education, Training, Knowledge, Skill and Experience (K.S.E.) and responsibility. Due consideration will be given to those who are qualified only by practical experience. There are many people who, through no fault of their own, have not had the opportunity to gain academic qualifications during their careers. These people may also apply for membership based on their own individual merits, practical experience and position. OTHER PROFESSIONAL BODIES

ASSOCIATION OF HEALTHCARE TRAINERS (AoHT)

The Centre for Stress Management is a member of the Association of Healthcare Trainers which was founded by healthcare trainers, for healthcare trainers. The Association of Healthcare Trainers is one of the UK’s largest non-profit membership associations for those training within the healthcare sector. By joining the Association of Healthcare Trainers, trainers, training providers, care providers, charitable trusts and professional bodies will be able to demonstrate to existing and potential customers, staff members, regulating and inspecting bodies that the way they operate and conduct themselves with regard to training within the healthcare sector is in line with a code of ethics. The Association of Healthcare Trainers provides a Code of Ethics & Conditions of Membership to abide by.

 

INSTITUTE OF HEALTH PROMOTION AND EDUCATION 
The Centre for Stress Management is a Corporate Member of the IHPE. The Centre recommends that learners on the stress management programme may benefit from joining the Institute.
